Overseas orders are now complicated by new postal regulations requiring "volumetric weights." Depending on the shipping method the exact cost may not be known before making the kites. We will make kites that are paid for, and then send a final bill for the remainder once they are ready for shipping. Thus Google Checkout and PayPal customers will suffer a minor inconvenience, for which we apologize in advance.

New Post Office regulations for USA!

Parcels over 1.05m long (ie. my kites) can no longer be posted, or mailed, to the USA by the Royal Mail, meaning we can no longer use Air Mail, Global Priority or DataPost.

All kites to the USA must now be shipped via a courier such as FedEx on a per-order basis. Costs are reasonable, however, compared to DataPost, but charges are now made on a "volumetric weight" basis, necessitating a two-step payment process.

Google Checkout and PayPal customers can purchase kites (or pay at least 40% deposit), and once the order is finished and packed the balance will be charged with a second invoice.

Payment - UK

Within the UK cheques are the norm; postal money orders are fine; if you have to send cash it must be sent via special delivery or registered mail

Please make cheques, drafts and money orders payable to "Dan Leigh"

Delivery and payment - EU countries outside the UK

NOTES: Delivery charges include VAT by law

Delivery - EU

Delivery:
· Royal Mail Global Priority (quite slow, with rudimentary tracking)
· Express courier such as ParcelForce Datapost (Royal Mail) or or FedEx on a per-order basis (very quick and effectively trackable)

(Deliveries by Global Priority usually take much longer than advertized; express couriers cost sometimes less or sometimes more, depending on the destination, but they are always considerably quicker)

With the volumetric weight method used for costing all express deliveries, delivery charges will not be known until an order is made and packed. Therefore an initial invoice will cover the cost of the kite or kites, and the balance (including shipping) will be invoiced through PayPal or Google Checkout once the order is completed and packed
Kites are not made until paid for.

Payment - EU

Payment must be in UK pounds

EU customers can pay in UK Pounds with a credit card over the internet using PayPal or Google Checkout

PayPal or Google Checkout?

With PayPal you can pay in UK Pounds using a credit card, bank card, e-check or e-transfer, but there is a 4% handling charge covering currency conversion, transfer taxes, cross-border fees, etc.
You don't need to have a PayPal account

You can only use credit cards on Google Checkout, and customers without a Google account will need to create one
Until 1 Feb '08 there is no extra fee with Google Checkout
(after 1 Feb '08 the charge will be in the region of 1.5%)

International bank drafts or international money orders are the most accurate methods of payment
Please make checks/money orders payable to: Dan Leigh

Bank-to-bank e-transfers - the last resort

Please note that there is no easy way to correct shortfalls with bank transfers

Customers must accept that transfer documentation supplied by my bank is true and correct in all cases

Delivery and payment - rest of world and USA

Delivery - rest of world

For countries that accept parcels of 1.5m in length (not USA)
Delivery:
· Via Royal Mail's Global Priority (very slow, with rudimentary tracking)
· Via express courier such as ParcelForce Datapost (Royal Mail) or FedEx (very quick, with good order tracking via internet)

We can usually work out Global Priority charges in advance, but with the new volumetric weight shipping charges for express services the delivery cost will not be known until an order is made and packed, in which case the balance will be invoiced using PayPal or Google Checkout once the order is ready.

Please remember to include a telephone number along with the delivery address

USA

(No Royal Mail services for kites)
Delivery:
· Via express courier such as FedEx (order tracking via internet)

NOTE - new Post Office regulations for USA!

Parcels over 1.05m long are no longer postable, meaning we can no longer use Air Mail, Global Priority or DataPost.

All kites to the USA must now be shipped via a courier such as FedEx on a per-order basis. Costs are quite reasonable (compared to DataPost), but charges are made using a "volumetric weight" method, necessitating a two-step payment process. PayPal and Google Checkout customers purchase their kites, and once they are made and packed the balance will be invoiced separately.

Payment options - rest of world

Payments must be in UK pounds

Express Deliveries - Two Step Payment

With the new volumetric weight method of charging for express deliveries the cost will not be known until the order is made and packed, so an ititial payment for the kite or kites secures an order, and the balance will be invoiced using PayPal or Google Checkout after the order is finished and packed.

We can usually work out the costs for Global Priority deliveries in advance

Kites are not made until paid for.

PayPal or Google Checkout?

With Google Checkout you can only pay with a credit card - there is no fee until 1 Feb '08, but you will need to open a Google account if you haven't got one already
(after 1 Feb '08 the charge will be in the region of 1.5%)
