The old-timers at the Round Pond in London's Kensington Gardens recommended interlock snaps, because they wouldn't pull open in a gust (or a tree). The word "crane" denotes the swivel design; "interlock" is the snap design. We've been using roughly these two sizes since the mid-1970s, and several are still in use today.
